Jake and Karrie met in 2011 working on a 12,300′ ft mountain, Parkview, in the Colorado Rockies. Though you might not think that a trail crew, with all its smelly, dirty, vagabond-like workers would hold much promisee for a mate, Karrie and Jake fell in love easily. Only six months later, they began a journey of a lifetime, thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico. They finished their 2,650-mile hike in Canada five months later.
It’s hard to keep Karrie and Jake apart, and in the Fall 2014, they decided to make it official. Karrie and Jake returned to the mountain where they first met, and there Jake popped the question.
Together, they adventure. Currently the couple works seasonally for the Forest Service in Colorado, and travels in the off-season. Karrie also works as an instructor for the National Outdoor Leadership School.
